I AM
I’m a death doula, a sailor, and a certified yoga teacher.
I’m a musician, an artist, a writer, and a performer.
I’m a friend, a lover, and family.
I’m your neighbor and your stranger.
I’m the bartender, the chef and the dishwasher
For more than twenty years, I’ve pursued the creative arts across North & South America & the Caribbean — often funding the path by wearing many hats, learning many trades, and moving through many worlds. Creativity has always been the throughline.
Along the way, I’ve been fortunate. After college, Paula Cooper brought me into her New York gallery as an art handler, where I had the privilege of spending time with artists like Sherrie Levine, Hans Haacke, and John Tremblay. I’ve handled and studied pieces up close by artists Christian Marclay, Dan Flavin, Rudy Serra & Sophie Calle — quiet masterclasses that shaped my eye and my understanding of art’s deeper currents.
While in New York’s art world I shot for print and web publications; Sonic Youth, Andrew W.K., Moby, Kembra Phaler and handfuls of Brooklyn’s 2010’s up and coming rock stars.
Although love carried me to the Caribbean, passion built an artist space dedicated to emerging contemporary Caribbean voices. Though the space lived briefly, the impact of macheteMACHETE Contemporary Art continues in the careers of the artists who first found footing there.
On the opposite coast, I earned my chops in Hollywood, working as a union camera assistant on major studio films and later stepping into producer and director roles on independent projects—learning storytelling from both the shadows and the spotlight - look for me in some music videos, shorts and feature films.
I’ve been lucky. And I try to carry that gratitude into every creative collaboration, every community I join, and every project I take on.
